From Laura...
So we serve a pretty amazing God! (And seriously, that's like the biggest understatement ever!!!) I feel like God has poured out blessing after blessing over my family as of lately. I wanted to share one of those blessings with everyone who has been diligently praying for my mom and my family. So, my mom has gone through 6 weeks of chemotherapy as of last Monday. Her cancer markers in her blood started out at 800+ (when 0 is normal). After 4 weeks they were down to 500 something. Then, the following week her white blood count was too low, so they couldn't do the chemotherapy, so they waited until the next week to do the treatment again. Then, the next week they did the blood work again and they were down to 245. Praise the Lord! So now, she has 2 more weeks of treatment and then they will do another full body scan to see where,if any where, the cancer remains. Then about 3 weeks later, she will have surgery to remove what's left.
This is not to discourage you from praying for her - because she still needs strength for each day. But we know the Lord has already healed her and she has received his healing - we are just waiting for his perfect time to reveal it. This is also a way to say thank you for your faithfulness. It's times like these that the church is able to fully take on the role that God called us to and bear with each other's burdens, and I am so grateful for brothers and sisters who are willing to do that, and so exemplify Christ and his love. So thank you, my brothers and sisters, for your faithfulness and belief in the Lord's healing powers.
Please let me know if I can ever pray for anything for you, because I want to chance to return the blessing. God is amazing and I am continually blown away by him. I wanted to share this as a form of encouragement to let you know that our God is still alive and moving in our world today.
