February 25, 2008

We have waited through the weekend to get the results of the tests from last week. Sharon and I were at the Oncologist's office at 8:30 this morning to hear what she had to say and then start the chemo. Wonderful news - the brain scan came back negative for cancer. The MUGA scan was fine. The Doctor was a little concerned that the liver biopsy had not been done. She told us that with cancer markers in the blood at over 800 (0-20 is normal) she really didn't want to wait for the liver biopsy to start chemo. We agreed so that test was cancelled. Sharon went straight to the treatment room to start her chemo. She was back there from around 9:45 until 1:30. Melissa went to sit with her as I went to work around 10:00. When I met them at home about 2:30 Sharon looked and felt good. She rested some in the afternoon but has eaten well and was at community choir rehearsal tonight. Thank you, God, for giving us strength for this day. Help us to face what is ahead tomorrow. Thank you, God, for all of our prayer supporters and all of our friends and family.

Keep on praying. We need you.

Dearest Jewetts,
You're entire family has been such a blessing to our church and personal lives. The concert Sunday was even more special than usual!

Sharon, I have such a peace from God about this and have total faith He will show His grace and mercy as you have displayed in your own life because of Him.
Doug, Melissa and Laura, your strength is so admirable and we will continue to ask for God's hand in all you are facing.

In His Love,
Jeni, David, Melissa & Kyle XOXOXO

My Dear Sharon,
Thank you so much for letting me know about this. It is great news about the brain and MUGA scans.
I think I told you in my e mail how much you mean to me. You have always had the presence of God's light in you and you have made a big difference in my life.
Just be assured that God is always with you and will hold you in his hands. I will pray for healing for you and strength and peace for you and your beautiful family.

Sharon, Doug and girls.... my dear friends,

I received the news today around 5pm about your cancer...I have been in conversation with God ever since. Although, there are many miles between us the same God is beside of us. I feel that you are to have this verse that was given to me recently:

"For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Know that I love you and am sending out prayer requests on your behalf.

with love,
Catherine Everhart

Sharon and Doug,
Praise God for yesterday. Praise Him for your grace. His mercies are new everyday. I'm praying Ephesians 3:16-20 for you and your precious family daily. You have shown such grace and faith. I love you all dearly and will not cease praying. James 5:16, 1 Thessalonian 5:16-18
Love, Susie

Momma,

I am so glad to hear that you are feeling good today! What a blessing that is! I'm so glad that Catherine left the Jer. 29:11 verse on here for you, because that's the verse that stood out to me yesterday! I know God's plans are to prosper us and not to harm us and to give us hope and a future. So, I'm taking that promise and that hope seriously. It's been what's gotten me through these last few days!

I can't wait to be home with you all and get that big hug you've promised me! :) I love you all so much and I'm praying for your healing and for Melissa and Daddy's strength as well!

I love you all and can't wait to be see you!
Lalee
